New Friends They are all part of the Coffee Tots team working with young mum, Lisa, at the Mustard Tree (for the uninitiated Coffee Tots is a weekly coffee morning for toddlers and their carers put on by the church.) "Many people have said how warm, friendly and calm it is at Coffee Tots," Lisa told me. |

"I can understand the warm & friendly part because we aim to be a place where carers (mainly mums) can make new friends. But with all the activity that goes on each Tuesday it rarely seems calm," she remarked. Making a Difference "Some of the activities are led by the team, including |

singing, birthday celebrations and news, but we get the mums involved in leading an art activity once every so often," explained Lisa. "Apart from meeting an obvious practical need in the community, we hope that Coffee Tots demonstrates how being a Christian can make a difference in every day life." Yummy Cakes The walls of the Mustard Tree are covered in photo displays of activities of the church as well as some of the art creations of youngsters from the Sunday School groups and Footprints. "It isn't only the displays that are appreciated," says Lisa, "the home made cakes provided by church members are still a high point of Coffee Tots." Mystery Revealed Oh, yes and in case you haven't worked out the names of the other four team members from the clues in the introductory paragraph, they are (in the same order): Steph Cole, Suzanne Bray, Anita Morley and Marina Weldon. Well done team, keep up the good work. |
